Savings and flexibility: enjoy a host of benefits

  • A premium reduction of up to 27 % compared with the standard model.
  • Some benefits are deductible-free: e.g. generic medicines and some breast cancer screening tests.
  • Free tests in our partner pharmacies, when the pharmacist considers it necessary. For example: an in-depth discussion with the pharmacist may lead to over-the-counter medicines being delivered or a test to detect the risk of diabetes or cardiovascular disease.

How does the PrimaFlex model work?

A solution for every situation

Here are a few concrete examples of how the PrimaFlex model can be used

Marc
Marc, aged 49, has a sore throat.

First point of contact
Marc is very busy at work and prefers to go quickly to the chemist for advice rather than to the doctor. He can easily plan his visit between business appointments.

Treatment
The pharmacist advises Marc to have a strep test, which is free of charge thanks to PrimaFlex. The result is positive, and Marc is given an antibiotic. Marc saves time and money by avoiding a medical consultation. If he wishes to be reimbursed, he can obtain a prescription by calling the telemedicine partner free of charge.

Cécile
Cécile, aged 4,has a cough and a rising temperature.

First point of contact
As it is Saturday evening, Cécile's parents take advantage of the 24-hour telemedicine service and call 0800 852 852 for free medical advice.

Treatment
The Medgate nurse gives them professional medical advice. She suspects a virus and prescribes a list of medicines. The prescription is sent directly to the pharmacy of their choice. Cécile's parents are pleased that they don't have to go to the emergency department and can pick up their daughter's medication directly from the pharmacy.

Nina
Nina, aged 19,has a rash on her back.

First point of contact
Nina is worried. She quickly opens the Ada symptom checker, available 24/7 in her Customer Area, and describes where she has redness and itching.

Treatment
The Ada symptom checker asks her a few quick questions, adapted to her answers. Nina discovers a list of possible medical conditions. The most likely cause could be a sun allergy that can be treated at home. Ada recommends applying an ointment to relieve the itching. Nina is reassured.

Carla
Carla, aged 35,has a number of health problems and has to make frequent visits to the doctor.

First point of contact
Carla had been feeling exhausted for several weeks. She makes an appointment with her long-standing family doctor, with whom she has a relationship of trust.

Treatment
Carla's doctor is aware of her situation and quickly identifies the cause of her symptoms. He adapts her medication and refers her to a specialist.

Conditions that are easy to follow

  • 1. In the event of a medical problem or question, you must always first consult one of four possible first points of contact: a partner pharmacy, our telemedicine partner, the Ada symptom checker or your family doctor.
  • 2. If you choose the family doctor option, please tell us who your family doctor is (in your Customer Area or by telephone/mail), if you have not already done so.
  • 3. In emergencies and certain other situations, you do not need to comply with the requirements of your model. You can find more information in the section “How does the PrimaFlex model work” above.

It may happen that the conditions of the model are accidentally not followed. In this case, we will notify you by letter and will be happy to offer our assistance.

However, if you repeatedly fail to comply with the rules, we will have to transfer you to the Standard basic insurance model. You will then lose your premium reduction, but you will benefit from free choice of doctor, with no conditions to be met.

Yes, you are exempted from contacting one of the above-mentioned first points of contact in certain special cases (e.g. in case of emergency or for consultations with a gynaecologist, ophthalmologist, etc.). The list of special cases can be found in your special terms and conditions of insurance.

No, you are free to buy your prescription drugs at the pharmacy of your choice (even if it is not a PrimaFlex partner).
