Medical aids and appliances

Medical technology for your daily needs

Your physical impairment can be eased. There are a number of medical aids to help you in your daily life. When you have reduced capacity, specialised equipment can help. Depending on your circumstances, your health insurance can contribute financially to the costs.

Medical devices

Wheelchairs, prostheses, hearing aids, walkers and orthopaedic inserts may in some cases be covered by the compulsory health insurance (AOS/OKP) or by a supplemental insurance (LCA/VVG) depending on the terms and conditions of insurance. Please note that not all medical devices are necessarily covered. You will find more information in the relevant documents. In any case, you must submit a medical prescription.

Medical aids and appliances must be purchased from a pharmacy or a discount centre for the compulsory health insurance (AOS/OKP). Before purchasing or renting, please contact us on 0848 803 111 to ensure that the company supplying the aids and appliances is approved for possible reimbursement under the AOS/OKP and/or the LCA/VVG.
